A bit more about Coaching
A selection of questions that are often asked when you are thinking about hiring a Coach.
.
A: Coaching helps you to move from where you are now, to where you want to be.
It is a partnership between you and I through which you gain clarity and focus, which in turn drives your motivation.
Coaching is very different from other interventions such as Counselling, Mentoring and Training, which are often linked with either giving advice, or suggestions on how to approach things.
Coaching explores values, ideas and beliefs with you, the client and empowers you to take action.
A: People hire Coaches for a number of different reasons. For some people its about having the time and space to develop themselves free from judgements and assumptions. For others, they may want to re-connect with themselves, or take a deeper look at their values.
People experiencing transition in life or work - through redundancy, promotion, leaving or returning to work, often seek the expertise of a coach to enable them to make the transition smoother and quicker, than if they were doing it alone.
A: Each session is different, depending on the client. There are a number of different approaches, including vision exercises, questioning, action planning and finally accountability.
You are in charge of the content and you bring the agenda.
The key is that you are in control and you take away actions that you have committed to taking as a result of the session.
A: Most coaches recommend an initial relationship of 3-6 months, to enable the client to get into the way coaching works and gain momentum. Often clients will have the support of a Coach for a year, and then may reconnect quarterly to help them stay on track.
I offer a variety of different options that suit most clients including one-off Goal setting sessions, throught to longer term packages.
If clients would like to work with and idea that isn't listed, I'm flexible in making that happen
A: Sessions can be conducted over the telephone, SKYPE, Email or in person. Most of my clients choose to have coaching over the telephone as its often more convenient for them. I charge slightly less for telephone coaching as I dont need to leave the house!
Well, only you can decide what action to take now,
